FAQ


Can I download and use a photo I found on this website?

No. We don’t own the copyright to any of the photographs posted on this website (unless otherwise noted), so please “do the right thing” and contact the photographer for permission to use his/hers photos.  We have provided a link under each photo that will send you directly to the photographer’s profile page on Flickr, an online photo management and sharing service.

Unfortunately, only members of the Flickr can send messages to one another.  So, if you haven’t done so already, just create a free account and you’ll be good to go.  If you already have a Yahoo account, you can skip this step and sign in under your current userid and password.  When you contact a photographer, please be sure to include as much info as possible about the photo, yourself, and how you want to use the photo.

Can I submit a photo for possible inclusion on this website?

If you want submit one of your pictures for publication on AfroSugar, you’re certainly welcome to do so. At this time, however, we only accept pictures through Flickr.com. This means that you will have to sign up for a free account (see above for more details). Once you’ve done that, leave us a message at afrosugar@gmail.com with a link to the picture that you’d like to submit.

As for what we are looking for….high quality photos that can hold their own when compared to those previously posted to this site.  That having been said, we are not strictly into featuring the ”model look,” but more interested into showing the diversity of beauty that is one of the unique hallmarks of women of African decent….in all their glorious shapes, sizes and shades.

Finally, you MUST adhere to the following guidelines in order to have any chance of your picture being featured:

  1. NO Nudity
  2. Repeat, NO Nudity or Sexually Suggestive Pics (tastefully sexy is ok)
  3. NO Celebrity Photos
  4. NO Subjects under 18 years of age
  5. NO Mixing of the Sexes (Sorry fellas, ladies only)
  6. NO defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable picture of any kind or anything else deemed inappropriate by us.
